How did we begin?

Adteg Technologies was founded in 2022 and is a Boutique Firm specialising in delivering Cloud-native solutions across all levels of Business & Government in Australia. Adteg’s special sauce is the focusing on the “Goldilocks Engineering”: providing just the right solution. We heavily focus on matching technology to organisational capability and cost appetite while reducing overall complexity. With the rise of Cloud-native technologies, it is very common to see over-engineered solutions that are difficult to support and cost more than the value they bring to organisations. At Adteg, we want to make people love the Cloud and the flexibility and value it can offer.

Our Managing Director

Adam Hammond is a Senior Site Reliability Engineer and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional. He has extensive experience building and implementing Cloud-native systems, programming in multiple languages including Python, and Go, and, extensive experience leading organisation change from the bottom up. Adam’s experience as a Lean Coach and working as a DevOps Engineer has given him an intuitive sense of business requirements and how they can best be delivered with technology.

In his spare time, Adam enjoys Flight Simulation and is in the Business Office of a Virtual Airline. Adam has had extensive industry experience across all levels of Government in Australia, ASX 200 companies, Start-ups, and Consulting. Adam also has ADHD and has served on Disability Employee Resources Groups as a Board Member and regularly engages on strategic programs to enable representation from under-represented groups in companies.

Our Strategy

We work with organisations during the three phases of their implementation life cycle. At each stage, we focus on certain key pillars to ensure that our systems meet the high standards expected of us.

Ideation & Design

During the ideation and design phase, we focus on:

  • Focusing on what provides value for an organisation.
  • Understand how we want to positively impact users.
  • Consider and account for our own biases to ensure we deliver a useful solution rather than an interesting piece of technology with limited value.

Solution Delivery

When it comes to building out a solution, there is no simple process to follow. By ensuring that we are guided by our solution delivery principles, we deliver great products:

  • Pick the best tool for the job, not the coolest tool.
  • Re-use where possible, build libraries.
  • Each component has a different job.
  • Always ask: will the system work if this was removed? If it will, remove it.
  • Build it like you have to use it for the rest of your life.

Process Improvement

Finally, we reach a very common point that most organisations are at: we have all this technology but we’re not seeing value. We have a tried-and-tested approach for improving these situations:

  • Automate and reduce time spent on processes.
  • Focus on small, iterative improvements.
  • Reduce complexity where possible.
  • Understand the whole system.
  • Document, document, document.

“Bring Problems into the Light”
We cannot be better if we don’t ensure problems are fixed. Never cover anything up, pull the cover off, fix it, and move on. We are not interesting in beating around the bush. Tell it like it is so we can plan for the right situation.
“Change the Process, not the Behaviour”
If the process does not work, don’t try and change everyone else to match the process. Processes can’t be happy, but we can feel unhappy because of a bad process. If you feel like a process is too complicated or is too onerous, fix it.
“Focus on YOU first”
We need you, so make sure you prioritise yourself first. From health and family to finishing on time every day, we want you to focus on keeping priority on yourself. We can’t be our best if you aren’t your best.
“Be Curious”
Work should be an adventure and you should get the opportunity to discover and explore every day. Jumping into new technologies, be involved, throw caution to the wind, and remember: you can do anything.
